MRS is looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to start ASAP in a job in Dungiven, Derry
You’ll be setting out the installation of a new roof and walls while staying on top of paperwork and managing tasks like handling concrete cubes and other site responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation and setting out of construction sites and projects
- Providing support to the site engineer in surveying and marking out the site accurately
- Ensuring that the construction plans and specifications are followed correctly
- Assisting in the supervision and coordination of construction activities
- Working with construction equipment and tools to set out markers, levels, and reference points
- Providing technical support and guidance to construction teams on site
- Collaborating with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure accurate setting out
- Conducting quality control checks to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Keeping accurate records of site measurements, layouts, and as-built drawings
Skills:
- Experience in setting out and surveying in a construction environment is preferred
- Strong proficiency in using surveying and setting out instruments (e.g., GPS, Total Stations, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with construction methodologies and industry standards.
- Good knowledge of construction plans, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and calculations
- Exceptional accuracy in setting out works and ensuring dimensional compliance.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Competent in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MS Office).
Requirements:
- CSCS card
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent (HNC / HND / BSc / MSc / BEng / MEng etc
- Proof of right to work in the UK
Experience:
Setting Out Engineer: 3 years (required)
